NRG Completes 66 MW Alpine Solar Facility

NRG Energy Inc., through its wholly owned subsidiary NRG Solar, has begun commercial operations for the Alpine Solar Generating Station, a 66 MW photovoltaic plant in Lancaster, Calif.

The station's electricity will be sold to Pacific Gas & Electric under a 20-year power purchase agreement.

First Solar provided engineering, procurement and construction services for the project and supplied its thin-film modules.
