A 750 kilovolt (kV) power transmission line that will carry electricity generated in power bases in northwest China to the rest of the country will reportedly come on-line in June, three months earlier than planned.
The Hami-Golmud line will transmit power from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region via Gansu Province to Qinghai Province, Xinjiang media reported, citing grid operator Xinjiang Electric Power Co. Work on the RMB 9.56 billion ($1.5 billion) project started in May 2011.
